“LIVE AS IF YOU WERE TO DIE TOMORROW. LEARN AS IF YOU WERE TO LIVE FOREVER.” ―MAHATMA GANDHI
At the beginning of May I had the pleasure of attending the When Light Falls workshop in Nelson, hosted by the fabulous Tinted Photography. It was two nights & three days of non-stop learning, talking, laughter and eating (oh man the food was soooo good!) Sirjana and Ben created a private little world for us, where we could expand not just our knowledge base on marketing, branding, the creative process, but our sense of self too. They pushed us to really look inward, to reflect on ourselves and our 'why'.
Since then, I've done a lot of soul searching and I'm so excited to share what I've learned about myself in the coming weeks.
For now though, here are some of the images I took while we were on our styled shoot. Tinted found three beautiful couples for us to take turns photographing in the brutally cold afternoon. The girls braved icy winds in their thin dresses without a complaint, honestly they were all troopers!
What I really love about this sort of experiment is just how different any two photographers vision for their image is. The same couple in the same location can wield totally different results, which is one of the reasons why I love photography so much. It can be deeply personal to both the photographer and the viewer.
